Andrew Thomas:

When I was growing up there was very little interest in promoting the growth of New Zealand’s native bush – in fact farmers were paid to chop it down. The pioneering Te Ahu Pātiki project reflects a huge change in the community’s attitude towards the growth and expansion of our beautiful native flora. It is a privilege for me to now be involved as a Board Member of The Te Ahu Pātiki Charitable Trust.

I came to Charteris Bay many times as a child on holiday and developed a great fondness for the area. We have now lived here for eight years. I have been involved over that time as a volunteer at Orton Bradley Park.

I have a legal, business, and property background. I look forward to using my skills to contribute to the management and growth of Te Ahu Pātiki.
